I'm honest about what I don't know. If I haven't done something before, I'll say so, then go learn it and come back having figured it out. That's how my work ended up covering products, brands, websites, and motion.
Right now I lead design across product and brand at an AI startup. The people I build for tend to do well. A parenting app I designed now makes its founder $5K MRR. My athlete logos have passed a million views. Other teams and creative professionals build on my framer templates. What I love most is taking something from 0 to 1, or 1 to 100. That is the work I want to be heads down on.
